Day-by-day itinerary

1. D1

   Day 1: Pokhara to Jomsom & Kagbeni

   Fly or drive to Jomsom and trek to Kagbeni, the gateway to the restricted Upper Mustang region.

2. D2

   Day 2: Kagbeni to Chele

   Enter the restricted area and follow the Kali Gandaki valley to the village of Chele.

3. D3

   Day 3: Chele to Syangmoche

   Climb over ridges and descend into small canyons with colorful rock formations.

4. D4

   Day 4: Syangmoche to Ghami

   Cross the Nyi La pass and descend to Ghami, with its long mani wall and red cliffs.

5. D5

   Day 5: Ghami to Charang

   Pass through the longest prayer wall in Mustang and reach the village of Charang.

6. D6

   Day 6: Charang to Lo Manthang

   Trek to the walled capital of Lo Manthang, the cultural and spiritual heart of Upper Mustang.

7. D7

   Day 7: Explore Lo Manthang

   Visit the royal palace, ancient monasteries, and the vibrant alleyways of this medieval city.

8. D8

   Day 8: Lo Manthang to Dhakmar

   Return via a different route, visiting the Ghar Gompa, one of the oldest monasteries in Nepal.

9. D9

   Day 9: Dhakmar to Ghiling

   Walk through wide valleys and past chortens to the village of Ghiling.

10. D10

    Day 10: Ghiling to Chhuksang

    Descend steadily through the arid landscape to Chhuksang by the Kali Gandaki.

11. D11

    Day 11: Chhuksang to Jomsom

    Exit the restricted area and trek back to Jomsom for your final night in the mountains.

12. D12

    Day 12: Fly Jomsom to Pokhara

    Morning flight to Pokhara and onward travel, carrying memories of a lost kingdom.
