Arrival & Alipiri Steps (Optional)
Arrive at Tirupati and proceed to Alipiri. For the spiritually ambitious, climb the 3,550 steps (11km) up the seven hills — the traditional path pilgrims have taken for centuries. The climb takes 4-6 hours and passes through four gopurams (temple towers). Alternatively, take the ghat road to Tirumala (700m above sea level). Check into accommodation. Evening: Visit the Sri Vari Museum to understand the temple's 2,000-year history. Preparation: The climb requires good fitness; carry water and wear comfortable footwear.

Darshan & Rituals
Rise at 2:00 AM to join the Suprabhatam (waking-up ceremony) queue. Experience the temple come alive with the morning prayers as the deity is awakened with Vedic chants. After darshan (which may take 3-6 hours depending on the queue), participate in the Angapradakshinam — rolling around the temple sanctum as an act of extreme devotion. Visit the Varahaswamy Temple on the temple tank, where Vishnu's boar incarnation is worshipped before Venkateswara darshan. Many pilgrims offer their hair at the Kalyana Katta tonsuring center — an act of ego-surrender. Collect the famous Tirupati Laddu as prasad.

Departure via Padmavati Temple
Descend to Tiruchanur and visit the Padmavati Amman Temple — the consort of Lord Venkateswara. Darshan here completes the full Tirupati pilgrimage. According to tradition, the goddess must be visited after the main deity. Shop for Tirupati wood carvings and red-vermillion (kumkum) before departure. Carry home the Laddu prasad and blessings for prosperity.
