   Arrival & Lake Cruise

   Drive from Kochi or Madurai to Thekkady. Afternoon boat cruise on Periyar Lake, the park's primary wildlife viewing experience. Watch herds of elephants — sometimes 20 or more — play and bathe at the water's edge. Spot gaur, wild boar, and countless water birds.

   Guided Jungle Trek

   Full-day guided jungle trek with a tribal guide from the local Mannan community, who have lived in these forests for generations. Learn to identify animal tracks, medicinal plants, and the calls that signal danger. Lunch at a forest watchtower.

   Bamboo Rafting & Border Trek

   Full-day bamboo rafting expedition on the lake's upper reaches, a more intimate experience than the standard boat cruise. Search for the endangered lion-tailed macaque and Nilgiri langur in the canopy. Afternoon trek to the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border for panoramic views.

   Spice Plantation & Departure

   Morning visit to a cardamom and pepper plantation to understand how spice cultivation and wildlife conservation coexist. Transfer to Kochi or Madurai for departure.
