   Late afternoon at Boudhanath

   Arrive at Boudhanath by 4:00 PM as the golden light bathes the massive white dome. Walk the clockwise kora path, spinning prayer wheels and chanting Om Mani Padme Hum. The air smells of juniper incense and butter lamps. Watch monks debate philosophy in the courtyard monasteries.

   Sunset transfer to Pashupatinath

   Drive to Pashupatinath as dusk falls. Find a place on the ghats as Brahmin priests prepare for the evening aarti. The sound of cymbals, conch shells, and bells builds to a crescendo as hundreds of oil lamps are lit, creating a river of fire reflected in the Bagmati.

   Evening aarti and reflection

   Witness the elaborate aarti ceremony where priests wave flaming lamps before the temple in synchronized movements. The smoke, fire, and Vedic chants create an otherworldly atmosphere.
