Scenic drive and monastery arrival
Drive from Kathmandu through the lush mid-hills of Kavre district, passing terraced farms and traditional villages. Arrive at the Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery and check into the simple but comfortable guesthouse. Attend the afternoon prayer ceremony, listening to the deep chanting of monks accompanied by Tibetan horns and cymbals.

Stupa visit, meditation, and teachings
Walk to the chorten marking the sacred site where the Buddha-to-be sacrificed himself. Meditate in the quiet grove where the story unfolded. A senior monk delivers a teaching on compassion and the Bodhisattva path. The monastery's terraces offer breathtaking views of the Himalayas. Participate in butter lamp offerings in the main prayer hall.

Morning kora and departure
Rise early for a guided walking meditation (kora) around the monastery grounds at dawn. Listen to birdsong in the pine forests. Share breakfast with the monastic community. Before departure, receive a blessing from a senior lama and a protective amulet. The return drive includes a stop at the ancient Panauti town.
