Kathmandu Durbar Square and Kumari
Begin at Kathmandu Durbar Square, the former royal palace complex. Visit the Kumari Ghar and, if fortunate, receive a blessing from the Living Goddess Kumari, a young girl worshipped as the divine feminine. Explore the Hanuman Dhoka Palace and the ancient Kasthamandap pavilion that gave Kathmandu its name. Walk through narrow lanes lined with shops selling traditional masks and thangka paintings.

Patan Durbar Square art and architecture
Drive to Patan, the 'City of Fine Arts.' Explore the Patan Museum, considered South Asia's finest, housed in a former Malla palace. Admire the Krishna Mandir's intricate stone carvings depicting Mahabharata and Ramayana scenes. Visit the Golden Temple (Hiranya Varna Mahavihar), a stunning three-roofed Buddhist monastery where young monks maintain ancient traditions.

Bhaktapur medieval immersion
Spend a full day in Bhaktapur, the best-preserved medieval city in Nepal. Walk through the 55-window palace, climb the towering Nyatapola Temple steps flanked by guardian statues, and taste the famous juju dhau (king curd). Visit the Pottery Square where artisans shape clay using techniques unchanged for centuries. Stay overnight in a traditional Newari guesthouse.
