1. D1

   Gorkha Durbar and Kalika Temple

   Drive from Kathmandu to Gorkha and climb to the hilltop Durbar complex. Explore the 16th-century palace with its carved wooden windows and stone courtyards. Visit the Kalika Temple, where Prithvi Narayan Shah worshipped before unifying Nepal. The views of Manaslu, Annapurna, and the valley below are stunning. 2. D2

   Manakamana cable car and return

   Drive to Kurintar and take the cable car to Manakamana Temple for darshan of the wish-fulfilling goddess. The temple's pagoda style reflects traditional Nepali architecture. Perform puja and make your wish. Enjoy the Himalayan views from the temple courtyard. Return to Kathmandu with blessings from both the goddess and the spirit of Nepal's founding.

3. D3

   Manakamana cable car darshan and return

   After breakfast, drive to Kurintar (1 hour) and board the Manakamana cable car — Nepal's first — for a 10-minute scenic ascent over the Trishuli River valley. At the summit, visit the 17th-century Manakamana Temple dedicated to Goddess Bhagwati, who is believed to grant heartfelt wishes ("mana" = heart, "kamana" = wish). Observe the unique tradition of sacrificing goats and pigeons. Descend by cable car and drive back to Kathmandu/Pokhara. Tip: cable car operates 8 AM–5 PM; book tickets in advance during festivals.
