Day-by-day itinerary

1. D1

   Day 1: NJP/Bagdogra to Yuksom

   Drive to Yuksom, the historic gateway to Kanchenjunga and the former capital of Sikkim.

2. D2

   Day 2: Yuksom to Sachen

   Trek through dense semi-tropical forest along the Rathong River to the camp at Sachen.

3. D3

   Day 3: Sachen to Tshoka

   Cross the Prek Chu river and climb steeply to the Tibetan refugee settlement of Tshoka.

4. D4

   Day 4: Tshoka to Dzongri

   Ascend through rhododendron forest to Dzongri, with views of Pandim and other peaks.

5. D5

   Day 5: Dzongri acclimatization / Dzongri La hike

   Early morning hike to Dzongri La for sunrise over Kanchenjunga, then rest at camp.

6. D6

   Day 6: Dzongri to Thansing

   Descend to the Kokchurang river and follow the valley to the meadow camp at Thansing.

7. D7

   Day 7: Thansing to Lamune

   A short but beautiful walk to the high camp at Lamune, beneath the towering peaks.

8. D8

   Day 8: Lamune to Goechala viewpoint & back to Thansing

   Pre-dawn ascent to Goechala (4,940 m) for the iconic mirror view of Kanchenjunga, then descend.

9. D9

   Day 9: Thansing to Tshoka

   Retrace the trail through Dzongri and down to Tshoka.

10. D10

    Day 10: Tshoka to Yuksom & drive NJP

    Descend to Yuksom and drive back to NJP/Bagdogra for onward travel.
