Drive to Dakshinkali and temple darshan
Drive 22 km south of Kathmandu through terraced farmland and pine forests. Arrive at Dakshinkali and walk to the open-air shrine. Observe the powerful black stone Kali with her four arms holding a sword, skull cup, and severed head. Listen to the clanging of giant bells as devotees offer prayers. The air smells of incense and marigold offerings.

Pharping Buddhist circuit
Drive to nearby Pharping, an important site for both Hindus and Buddhists. Visit the Vajrayogini Temple, a significant Tantric shrine. Continue to the Asura Cave where Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) attained enlightenment, marked by a self-arising Tara image on the cave wall. The coexistence of Hindu and Buddhist sacred sites here exemplifies Nepal's religious harmony.

Shesha Narayan and village walk
Walk to the ancient Shesha Narayan Temple, one of the four Narayan temples guarding the Kathmandu Valley. The temple sits beside a spring where fresh water flows year-round. Stroll through traditional farming villages, observing daily rural life. Return to Kathmandu via the historic town of Kirtipur for sunset views over the valley.
