Drive to Dharan and Barahachhetra
Fly to Biratnagar or drive from Kathmandu to Dharan, then proceed to Barahachhetra. Walk through the temple complex with its nine shrines, including Laxmi, Guruvarah, Suryavarah, and Nageshwar temples. Observe the large image of Varaha lifting the earth. Check into a riverside guesthouse.

Morning rituals and confluence bathing
Rise before dawn for a ritual dip at the confluence of the Koka and Koshi rivers, believed to cleanse sins accumulated over lifetimes. Participate in morning puja at the main Varah temple. Visit the 1,500-year-old sculptures in the complex. Walk along the mighty Koshi, watching the confluence waters merge in a powerful metaphor of unity.

Ardha Kumbha experience and return
If visiting during the Ardha Kumbha Mela (every 6 years), participate in the grand bathing ceremony with thousands of pilgrims. Otherwise, visit nearby Indra Barah and Guru Barah temples. Explore the local market and return to Biratnagar for your flight back to Kathmandu, spiritually renewed.
